Tribute

Dorothy I. Naser, 94 of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away at her home on Sunday October 3, 2021.

Dorothy was born in South Carolina on July 11, 1927, and graduated from high school in Cottageville, S.C. She moved to Fort Lauderdale with her family in 1945.

Dorothy was known as "Dot” or “Dottie” by her friends. Dot was a devout Christian; she was a member and regularly attended worship services at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Lauderdale. She will be dearly missed by her fellow church members.

Dot was a “Southern Lady” in all the positive meanings of that term. She loved and cared for all her family and friends and especially delighted in her great grandsons. Dot enjoyed hosting parties, loved to dance, and was a very active community volunteer. For many years, Dot chaired and organized the annual formal dinner and fundraiser for the Gold Coast Chapter supporting persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dot also served many terms on the board of Bayshore Towers and was well liked by her neighbors and many friends there.

Dot was an excellent cook, enjoyed knitting, cycling, and walking, including getting in her 10,000 steps a day. She was an avid bridge player, playing bridge several times a week.

Her mother, Kathrine A. Isgette, and her father, Robert A. Isgette preceded her in death, as did her brothers and sister, Robert A. Isgette, Jr. (Sonny boy), Luther Isgette (Booty), Lawrence Isgette (Larry) and Kathryn Isgette. Dorothy’s husband, Jack H. Naser, also preceded her in death, as did her daughter, Nancy Banker, and her long-time friend, Patrick Barrett.
Dot is survived by her sons: John A. Naser and his wife Stephanie; and David R. (Randy) Naser and his wife Amanda (Mandy). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly Fico, Danielle Naser and Lauren Joseph, and by two great grandchildren, Cannon Joseph and Luke Fico.

Dot had great affection for her caregivers who became like family. Their loving care made it possible for her to stay in her home until she passed. Dot’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers who attended to Dot’s needs through the end of her life.A Celebration of Life will be held for Dorothy on Monday, October 11, 2021, between 1:00 and 3:00 pm at Bayshore Towers Condominium, 511 Bayshore Drive, Fort Lauderdale.
