May 24, 1985 ~ April 3, 2021 (age 35) 35 Years Old

Tribute

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL/GLENS FALLS, NY- Daniel Joseph Finn, age 35, of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Glens Falls, NY passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 3, 2021 at his home in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

In his early life Dan was a talented athlete, playing both football and baseball competitively from a young age and through middle school. He also enjoyed playing basketball recreationally.

Dan attended Glens Falls City Schools and was a member of the class of 2003.  During high school and the years that followed he was an avid inline skater.  Any time he was not in school or at work he could be found grinding handrails or concrete walls, or jumping sets of steps with NSP. Also known as the New School Prospects, a close group of friends who shared his enthusiasm for the sport.

Dan, from a very young age, was exceptionally advanced when it came to electronics and technology. Which naturally led him toward his love of computers and video gaming that lasted a lifetime.  Dan was a passionate gamer ever since the days spent laying on the living room floor playing Super Mario and Duck Hunt on Nintendo with his brothers in the late 80's and early 90's all the way to Xbox One, Playstation 5, and role playing and interactive PC games of today.

Dan spent most of his time in the workforce employed in various warehouses of the Glens Falls area.  In search of new beginnings and a different walk of life he ventured to sunny Florida where he worked outside in the roofing and construction business and also in the food service industry at a deli.  Dan was known for his strong work ethic and often held down multiple jobs at one time. He was extremely task oriented and considered by his employers to be reliable and committed to his assignments.

While in Florida Dan dedicated himself to recovery and became a well respected pillar of the recovery community.  He was the manager of a rehabilitation facility and was studying to earn his rehabilitation counselor certificate. He became devoted to exercising daily, eating well, and keeping himself in overall good shape.  His most revered of past times were taking his Honda motorcycle on long, high speed rides along Florida highways and by-ways, and skydiving every Saturday where he had recently earned enough tandem dives to dive solo.

Dan is predeceased by: his maternal grandmother June Franklin, his great-uncle William Fletcher, his uncle Henry Franklin, his uncle John Finn Jr., his paternal grandmother Maureen B. Finn, and his great uncle Martin Finn.

Left to cherish Dan's memory are: his father Kevin Finn, his mother Ruth Finn and her husband Robert Hunter, his stepmother Judy Jacobsen, his brother and wife Justin (Kari) Finn, his brother Shawn Finn, his brother Christopher Finn, his cousin and wife Richard (Kelly) Behr, his niece Mia Behr and nephew Mason Behr,  his cousin and husband Stephanie (Roger) Rufenacht, his aunt and husband Kelly (Harry) Milne, his uncle Christopher Finn, his aunt Sandy Finn, his grandfather John Finn, and his son Daniel Finn Jr.
