    Our History

    Our firm traces its roots back, deep into the 20th century, when our first facility was dedicated. Many years later, this location has seen renovations and changes, but has always been and will continue to be an integral part of this community.

    Over the years, the original mission of the firm hasn't changed. We have always intended to provide the best, most professional services, complemented by the finest products. Today, we pride ourselves on being current with the major changes in funeral service trends - and bring those innovations and memorialization options to our client families with integrity and insight.

  • Joseph Waterwash
    Joseph Waterwash, Funeral Director, Managing Partner

    Joe joined Baird Case Funeral Homes as a licensed funeral director in 2004 bringing 26 years of experience as a funeral director from Cleveland, Ohio Joe graduated from The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and the National Foundation of Funeral Service. He served on the Board of Trustees for 18 years for Hospice of Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Joe is an active member of Unity of Fort Lauderdale Church, the Florida Funeral Directors Association, the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, The Executive's Association of Fort Lauderdale, and the Lauderdale by the Sea Chamber of Commerce. "I feel blessed to have the privilege to help families create a unique and meanignful to their loved ones."

  • Michael Gunderud
    Michael Gunderud, Funeral Director and Embalmer

    Michael joined Baird-Case Funeral Homes in 2011, being in funeral service since 1998. His calling in Funeral Service began in New Jersey while concurrently attending college. Michael's past experiences in funeral service range from being a former owner and operator of one of the largest cremation businesses in New England, co-owning a cemetery and funeral home in Tallahassee for several years and working for a family owned and operated funeral home in New Jersey. One of the most valued understandings that Michael believes in is " a reputation not passed down, it is earned by serving one family at a time".

  • Rohaema "Roni" Smith
    Rohaema "Roni" Smith, Funeral Director, Managing Partner

    Rohaema “Roni” Smith was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, W.I. and is a first generation Funeral Director. She started her career in the funeral industry August 2001. She received her Associate of Science Degree in Funeral Service from Miami Dade College. Rohaema then, furthered her education in Business Management, and earned her Bachelor's from American Intercontinental University graduating summa cum laude.

  • Cathy Rager
    Cathy Rager, Administrative Assistant

    Administrative Assistant at Baird-Case Jordan-Fannin Funeral Home. A long time resident of Pompano Beach, FL where she, along with her husband, have raised their family of two sons and two daughters. Cathy assists the Funeral Director’s and the families they serve, with any need’s and request’s that may arise. Cathy feel’s it is a privilege to be part of assisting families during the most difficult days of their lives. I look forward to each day and the lesson’s I will learn, the people I will meet and the help that I can offer.
